LAND OF THE BIBLE PILGRIMAGE 

(PROTESTANT, 10 DAYS WITH FREE DAY )

 

Day 1Departure from USA,

overnight flight including dinner, breakfast and in-flight entertainment.

 

Day 2:Tel Aviv / Tiberias.

Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. We are met, assisted and escorted to our hotel by aviatours staff. We meet for dinner.

 

Day 3Capernaum/ Tabgha / Mt. of Beatitudes / Magdala / Jordan River

After breakfast, we descend and take a boat ride to Capernaum (Luke 4:31) to visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the Byzantine chapel at the site of Peter's House. We then continue to Tabgha (Matt 14:17, 19), the site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish, Mount of Beatitudes (Matt 5-7) and Magdala - home of Mary Magdalene. We continue to the Baptism site at the Jordan River, where those who wish, may renew their Baptism in this unique place. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay

 

Day 4Cana / Nazareth / Meggido / Caesarea/ Jerusalem.

After breakfast we drive towards Cana (John 21:2) where the first miracle of Jesus took place, and then to Nazareth(Matt 2:23) to visit the place where he lived as a young boy and visit a typical house of his time. Our last visit today will be to Megiddothe Biblical city overlooking the Valley of Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). Drive to Caesarea(Acts 10:1ff),the port-city built by King Herod. Apostle Paul was put in prison here until he was expelled to Rome.. We reach Jerusalem for dinner & overnight.

 

Day 5: Jerusalem- The Old City

Our first stop will be the Mount of Olives (Mark 13:3) with a panoramic view of both the "old" and "new" Jerusalem. We follow the path down the Palm Sunday road to the Gardenof Gethsemane (Matt 26:36) and the nearby Church of All Nations. We then take a short drive through the Kidron Valley to reach Absalom and Zachariah's Tomb. Continue to MountZion (King David's tomb) and the Upper Room (John 13:1ff), site of the Last Supper. Nearby is the house of Caiaphas where Jesus was captured. We will then continue to The Israel Museum, house of the Shrine of the Book where the original Dead Sea scrolls are exhibited and displays the model of Jerusalem from the time of Jesus.We reach our hotel for dinner and overnight

 

Day 6: Qumran / Dead Sea/ Masada/ Jericho/ Jerusalem.

We drive south to the Dead Sea through Qumran, to visit the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We’ll then continue to Masada, the palace-fort built by King Herod. Here, in 73 A.D., 960 Jewish zealots committed suicide rather than surrender to the Romans. The plateau is reached via a cable car ride with a spectacular view of the plains surrounding it. We’ll also dip in the Dead Sea – rich with minerals, God’s gift to your skin. If time permits, we will visit Jerico – the oldest city in the world. Here, we see the Mountains of Temptation. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

Day 7: Jerusalem.

After breakfast we visit the modern city of Jerusalem, the famous Menorah near the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), the Yad Va Shem Museum (the Holocaust Museum). We will visit the Wailing Wall (the Western Wall) - the last remains of the Temple built by King Herod and the Rabbi’s Tunnel whichexposes to you the unique size of the Wailing Wall. We walk several stations of the Way of the Cross until we reach the Bible Institute depicting articles of the temple. Our day ends with dinner and overnight in our hotel in Jerusalem.

 

Day 8: Garden Tomb / Bethlehem.

We start the day by visiting the City of David where King David established his residence before taking the city. We then dedicate time for a visit, pray and meditation at the Garden Tomb at Golgotha. Visit the tomb from where HE resurrected (John 19:40-41.Next we then travel to the "little town of Bethlehem (Matt 2:1ff) and its' Church of the Nativity and Milk Grotto. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

Day 9: Jerusalem: For You!

A day at leisure for your own independent explorations and activities, or additional optional sightseeing. Our day ends with a farewell dinner and over night in Jerusalem.(If your flight departs at midnight, you will be transferred to the airport after dinner).

 

Day 10: Flight back home

Transfer to the airport. Arrival home in the U.S.A. on the same day. Welcome back. You have just returned from a lifetime experience.

 

 

ISRAEL - THE BIBLE LAND

(10 days, Protestant without a free day )

 

 

Day 1:Departure from USA,

Day 2:Tel Aviv / Tiberias.

Day 3:Caesarea Philippi / Golan Heights / Capernaum/ Tabgha / Mt. of Beatitudes / Magdala / 

After breakfast, we drive to Caesarea Philippi where Peter recognizes Jesus as the Son of God (Mat.16: 13-20). We ascend to the Golan Heights to visit this beautiful region. We overlook the Sea of Galilee from above and then descend to take a boat ride on it. In the middle of the sea we stop the engine and read the scriptures (Matthew 14:26-27).We reach Capernaum to visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the Byzantine chapel at the site of Peter's House (Luke 4:31).  We then continue to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish ((Matt 14:17, 19), the Mount of Beatitudes (Matt 5-7) and Magdala-home of Mary Magdalene. Dinner and overnight in our hotel.

 Note: Between November and March we may amend the program to visit the Agamon, a   unique parking place for half a billion migrating birds on their way from Europe to Africa.

 

Day 4: Nazareth / Cana / Zippori / Megiddo/ Jordan River. 

  After breakfast we drive towards Cana (John 21:2) where the first miracle of Jesus took place, and then to Nazareth(Matt 2:23) to visit the place where he lived as a young boy and visit a typical house of his time. Nearby is Zippori - the capital of the Talmudic Israel after the destruction of the second temple. Here we see beautiful ancient Mosaic work. After lunch we will travel to Megiddo, the multi-layered Biblical city overlooking the Valley of Armageddon (Revelation 16:16).   Our last visit today will be to the Baptism site at the Jordan River, where those who wish, may renew their Baptismal vows in this unique place. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight

 

 

 

Day 5:Mt.Carmel / Haifa/ Caesarea / Jerusalem: 

After breakfast we go to visit Mt.Carmel at the site where Elijah challenged the 450 false prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:19-40). From here we have a spectacular view of theValley of Armageddon (Revelation 16:16).We continue to the beautiful city of Haifa to view the world renowned BahaiiGardensDrive to Caesarea(Acts 10:1ff),the port-city built by King Herod. Apostle Paul was put in prison here until he was expelled to Rome.   We reach Jerusalem. On the Mount of Olives we have a ceremony of entering Jerusalem, as Malchizedek greeted Abraham (Genesis 14:18) and enjoy the panoramic view of the old and the new cities. Dinner and overnight in our hotel.

 

Day 6: Jerusalem – Bethlehem

After breakfast we follow the path down the Palm Sunday road to the Gardenof Gethsemane (Matt 26:36) and the nearby Church of All Nations.
